Who We Are
Lev Lev Educational Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Great Neck, New York. We provide confidential, needs-based tuition assistance grants to Jewish day school families who need support affording the cost of a Jewish education.
The name Lev Lev — Hebrew for "heart to heart" — reflects how this work must be done: with sensitivity, with respect, and with complete privacy. Families who reach out to us do so with courage, and we honor that trust at every step.
We believe that a Jewish education should never be out of reach for a family that wants it. Our board is dedicated to reviewing every application with care, compassion, and complete confidentiality.
The Process
From your first inquiry to grant disbursement, every step is handled with care and complete confidentiality. Our board reviews each application personally — this is never automated, and your information is never shared outside our organization.
A family may apply confidentially through our online form, or be referred by their school's administration. Both paths are fully supported and treated with equal care. No one at your school needs to know you applied — unless you want them to.
Our board conducts a fair, holistic review of your household income, documented necessary expenses, family size, and the gap between what your family can reasonably contribute and the actual cost of tuition. We do not use rigid income cutoffs — every family's situation is different, and we treat it that way.
The Lev Lev Board of Directors reviews and approves all grant awards personally. Families are notified within two weeks of their application. All decisions are made with care and complete confidentiality.
Approved grants are sent directly to the partner school and applied to the family's tuition account. Families never handle the funds themselves. This protects their privacy and their dignity — no one in the community will ever need to know.

Lev Lev works directly with Jewish day schools across the Great Neck area and is supported by our community's synagogues. Families may be referred by their school or apply directly — both paths are equally welcome.
