Our Story

Why Lev Lev Exists

Lev Lev Educational Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Great Neck, New York. We provide confidential, needs-based tuition assistance grants to families of Jewish day school students who need help affording the cost of a Jewish education.

The name Lev Lev — Hebrew for "heart to heart" — reflects our belief that this work must be done with deep sensitivity. Every family that reaches out to us does so with courage. We honor that trust with strict confidentiality and a process built on dignity.

We provide needs-based tuition assistance grants exclusively for Jewish day school students through 5th grade, disbursed directly to schools so families never need to handle the funds themselves. No child should have to leave their school because of financial hardship.

How We Operate

Complete Confidentiality

Grant applications are reviewed only by board members. Your school, synagogue, and community will never know you applied or received assistance.

Fair Financial Review

We consider household income, necessary expenses, family size, and the gap between what a family can contribute and the actual tuition cost — holistically, not by formula.

Direct Disbursement

All approved grants are paid directly to the partner school and applied to the family's tuition account. Families maintain their dignity throughout the entire process.
